  1. My camera will not turn on. Is there anything that I can do?  top

  2. If your camera will not turn on, please ensure that you have inserted two 1.5V AA Alkaline batteries correctly. Additionally, make sure that you use new or fully charged batteries. Since digital cameras are high drain devices, your device may not turn on if there is not enough charge left in the batteries.

  3. Does my camera have an internal memory?  top

  4. This camera has a 32MB internal memory. You can increase the capacity by inserting a MMC (Multi Media Card) or SD (Secure Digital) to the memory slot. You can still take pictures without inserting a memory card.

  5. What kind of memory card does my Mustek DV 5200 camera use?  top

  6. Your Mustek camera can support both SD and MMC card.

Please note: In order to use SD/MMC cards with your camera, you will need to make sure that the card is “unlocked” and your antivirus software in your computer is disabled.

You can purchase memory cards directly from Mustek at: www.MustekDirect.com

Additionally, you can find SD and MMC cards at any local computer, camera or electronics stores.

  7. The front of my Mustek camera has an icon of two people and a flower. What are these for?  top

  8. These icons represent the Portrait/Macro mode of your Mustek camera. Basically, the setting with the icon of two people is for Portrait Mode which allows you can take pictures within the normal range focus. The icon of the flower is for Macro mode which allows you to take close-up pictures within 8 to 22 inches. You can change the mode setting by switching the focus ring of the camera.

  9. How do I delete pictures from my DV 5200 camera?  top

  10. In order to delete pictures or other files from you DV 5200’s internal memory/memory card, follow the instruction below:

    1. Power on the camera.
    2. Press the ‘Playback’ mode button (red and green button).
    3. Press the ‘Menu’ button and choose from the following options:

      • Delete one: delete the currently selected picture, video, or MP3 file.
      • Delete all: delete all pictures, videos, and MP3 files on the camera.
      • Format: delete all pictures, videos, MP3, and all other data on the memory/memory card.

  11. What does ‘Format’ mean?  top

  12. Format means to prepare a storage medium, in this case is the camera’s internal memory or a memory card, for reading and writing. When you format a disk, your camera erases all information on the disk, tests the disk to make sure all sectors are reliable and creates internal address tables that it later uses to find and write information.

Although formatting memory does not erase the data on the disk, it is a destructive process. If you accidentally format your camera’s memory, you can buy programs that enable you to recover some, if not all, of the data.

NOTE: These type of programs are not sold, developed or supported by Mustek. Using third party software and hardware can harm your equipment, thus voiding your warranty.
