One Pass Scanning

Mustek’s exclusive One-Pass scanning technologyis a unique combination of a true-color charged-coupled-device (CCD), hardware,software and firmware. The innovative design of the Paragon 1200 SP Promakes it up to 6 times faster than three-pass scanners and up to 2 timesfaster than competing single-pass scanners.

TWAIN Compliant

The Paragon 1200 SP Pro is a TWAIN compliant scanner.Through TWAIN the 1200 Pro can scan directly into many supported applications.

Cross Platform Scanner

The 1200 Pro is truly a cross-platform scanner.It includes all the software and hardware necessary to operate under Windows3.1, Windows 95 and in Macintosh environments.

Windows installation is effortless with the included16-bit Adaptec Plug-and-Play SCSI card and terminator. Under Windows 3.1,the driver allocates the required resources. Windows 95 automatically recognizesthe interface card when installed and sets all required resources.

Macintosh installation is even easier, the scannerplugs into the Mac’s built-in SCSI port and the software is all on CD-ROM.

Image Editing

The full versions of Picture Publisher 5.0 forWindows 3.1 and 6.0 for Windows 95 are both included on CD-ROM. PicturePublisher’s visual tools are easy to use and allow unparalleled creativefreedom. They provide an interactive preview to display the results beforethey are applied. If a mistake is made, Picture Publisher’s Infinite Undo(TM)and Command Layering(TM) can eliminate any previous action or rearrangethe order in which commands were applied.

MicroFrontier’s Color It is provided for Macintoshusers. Color It has useful tools that will lighten, darken, sharpen, smudge,blur and rotate images.

Scan and Recognize Text

The Xerox TextBridge Classic software allows documentsto be scanned for editing in word processing software. TextBridge is powerfuland easy to use, capable of recognizing many different fonts at varioussizes, quickly and accurately converting scanned documents into an editabledocument. The text for this page was scanned from a Mustek product brochureusing Text Bridge Classic OCR on the 1200 SP Pro.

Internet File Save Formats

The included image-editing software allows theParagon 1200 SP Pro to save in JPEG and GIF file formats. The GIF fileformat allows transparent areas and interlaced downloading.
