E-mailing Pictures

Most e-mail programs allow you to attach a file to your e-mail. Below are instructions for doing this in various e-mail programs. Just be sure to scan the picture at no more than 100 dpi and save it in the *.gif or *.jpg format. These two formats will result in relatively small images.

The person you send an image file to must have a program capable of reading the file format you saved the picture in. If they do not have a program that can read *.gif or *.jpg, they can download Paint Shop Pro from: http://www.jasc.com.

Juno

Juno does not allow attachment of files to e-mail.

America Online

1. Compose your e-mail as normal, then click the Attach File icon. Browse your hard drive to the location where you saved the image file and click on it.
2. Send your e-mail. The attached file will automatically be sent along with the e-mail.

Eudora

1. Compose your mail as normal.
2. If you know the filename and the path to the file's location on your hard drive, you can type it in in the e-mail header where it says "Attached:".
3. If you are unsure of the filename and/or path, click the Attach Icon at the top of your screen (It looks like a paperclip).

Netscape Navigator 3.0

1. Start Netscape and open the Window Menu. Click on Netscape Mail.
2. After Netscape's e-mail module starts up, click the To:Mail icon at the top. Compose your e-mail as usual.
3. Click the attach icon above the mail composition window.
4. Click the Attach File button.
5. Navigate to the location on your hard disk where the file was saved and double-click the file. If you know the filename and path to it, you can just type it in and click the Open button.
6. Once the file is attached, when you send your e-mail, the file will go with it.

Generic

If your e-mail program is not listed above, the procedures for attaching files will be very similar to the ones given here. If you are not able to figure out how to attach files to e-mail, read your mail software's online help or call your Internet Service Provider for assistance.
