Removing TWAIN and Twunk Files Windows 95 Instructions - Click on Start and select Find. Choose Files or Folders from the fly-out menu.
- In the Find dialogue box type twain.
- Make sure the Look In window has the C:\ drive selected and that the Include All Subfolders box is checked.
- Click Find Now.
- The lower part of the Find window will display the search results. Click on the Edit menu and choose Select All. (NOTE: Other programs, like Adobe PhotoShop have TWAIN files that will be found during the search. When all the files are highlighted, hold the CTRL key and click any TWAIN files located in other program directories, like Adobe PhotoShop, this will remove them from the highlighted selection. Only the TWAIN files located in the Windows directories should be removed.)
- With all of the TWAIN files selected, click on File and select Delete.
- Answer Yes and Yes to All to confirm the file deletion and send them to the Recycle Bin.
- Once all the files are deleted, click the Find dialog box again and replace twain with twunk.
- Click Find Now again.
- As before, click on Edit and Select All then File and Delete.
- Answer Yes and Yes to All to confirm the file deletion and send them to the Recycle Bin.
- The TWAIN and twunk files are now removed and you can install the new driver.
Windows 3.1x Instructions - From the Program Manager, click on the Main program group.
- Double-click the File Manager icon.
- In the File Manager, click on the icon of the C:\ drive.
- Click on File and select Search.
- In the Search dialogue box, type in twain*.* and press OK.
- When all the files are shown, click on Edit and Select All to highlight them.
- Press the DEL key on the keyboard to delete the files. Confirm the delete command with Yes and Yes to All.
- After the TWAIN files are deleted, type twunk*.* into the Find dialog box.
- When the Twunk files are displayed, highlight them by clicking Edit and Select All.
- Press the DEL key and confirm the delete by clicking Yes and Yes to All.
- The TWAIN and Twunk files are now removed and you may install your new driver.
