| The green checkmark symbol seen on the box is known as the C-Tick. It is the symbol adopted by the Australian Communications Authority to signify compliance with the electromagnetic interference (EMI) standard used in Australia. EMI are radio-frequency emissions from electronic products that may interfere with the operation of other products, such as noticeable disturbances to television or radio reception. Most countries have regulations stating how much EMI a piece of computer hardware can emit. In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issues an identification number, usually found as a label on the product, for devices meeting the US EMI standard. Since the same packing boxes are often used in Australia and the United States, the C-Tick appears along with the appropriate FCC identification number. |
