Installing Macintosh Software From Floppy Disks For Single-Pass ScanTools V2.0

Step 1. Install Color-It!

a. Insert the Color-It! disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the floppy icon appears, double click on it to open it.

c. Double click the Color-It! 3.0 Installer.

d. Click the "Continue" button on the introduction screen.

e. After reading the MicroFrontier License Agreement, click on "Continue."

f. Agree to the licensing agreement and click "Install."

g. Select the disk you wish to install into. The default is the Macintoshinternal hard disk. It is best to use that disk. Click on "Install."

h. When the installation is complete, click on "Quit."

i. Click on the floppy icon and drag it to the Trash to eject the disk.

Note: If you have a Macintosh featuring the PowerPC format, you maywish to request the PowerPC version of Color-It!. Call our CustomerService Department to obtain a copy. The installationfor the PowerPC version of Color-It! follows the same steps as outlinedabove and it will prompt you to switch between disk one and disk two.

Step 2. Install Wordlinx.

a. Insert the Wordlinx disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the floppy icon appears, double click to open it.

c. Double click on the Wordlinx Installer.

d. When the Wordlinx screen appears, verify the disk you wish to installonto. The default is the internal Macintosh hard disk. You may click on"Drive" to switch to another drive, but the hard disk is recommended.Click on "Install" to begin the installation.

e. When the "Wordlinx was installed correctly" box appears,click on "OK."

f. Click on the floppy icon and drag it to the Trash to eject the disk.

Step 3. Install the Scan Tools V 2.0 for Single-Pass Scanners.

a. Insert the Scan Tools disk into the floppy drive.

b. When the Scan Tools window opens, click on the Install Me First icon.

c. After the "Welcome" screen appears, click on "Continue."

d. When the "Easy Install" window appears, click on "Install."

e. After installation, the program will prompt you to restart your Macintosh.Click the "Restart" button. The disk will eject and the systemwill reboot.

Step 4. Installing the V 2.0 Plug-ins for Single-Pass Scanners.

a. Double click the Hard Disk icon to open it.

b. Locate the Color-It! folder and double click to open it.

c. In the Color-It! folder, open the Color-It! Stuff folder.

d. In the Color-It! Stuff folder, open the Plug-ins folder.

e. Leaving the previous folders open, insert the Scan Tools disk intothe floppy drive.

f. Double click the floppy icon to open the Scan Tools window.

g. In the Scan Tools window, open the Mustek Plug-in folder.

h. Click and drag the "Mustek F/B Scanner…" Plug-in fromthe Mustek Plug-in folder to the Plug-ins folder opened in Color-It! Stuff.This will copy the Plug-in to the hard disk.

i. Locate the ColorSync folder in the Scan Tools window and double clickto open it.

j. Click and drag the ColorSync Filter from the ColorSync folder tothe open Plug-ins folder in Color-It!. This will copy the Plug-in to thehard disk.

k. Close the ColorSync folder.

l. Close the Plug-ins folder that you opened in Color-It!.

m. Close the Color-It! Stuff folder.

n. Close the Color-It! folder.

o. Locate the Wordlinx folder and double click it to open it.

p. Click and drag the "Mustek F/B Scanner…" Plug-in fromthe Mustek Plug-ins folder on the Scan Tools disk to the Wordlinx folder.This will copy the Plug-in to the Wordlinx folder.

q. Close the Wordlinx folder and drag the Scan Tools floppy icon tothe trash can to eject it.
